It is difficult for people to distinguish between mechanical seals and hydraulic seals, and they often think that they are the same object.
Definition of mechanical seals and hydraulic seals:
Mechanical seals belong to one of the mechanical basic components of precision and complex structure, and are the key components of various pumps, reaction synthesis reactors, turbine compressors, submersible motors and other equipment. Its sealing performance and service life depend on many factors, such as selection, accuracy of the machine, correct installation and use.
The hydraulic seal has pressure requirements, and the joint surface is required to have a certain finish. The sealing element is mostly rubber, and the sealing effect is achieved through the local deformation of the seal.
Second, mechanical seals and hydraulic seals classification
Mechanical seal model: packaged seal series, light mechanical seal series, heavy mechanical seal series, etc
Hydraulic seals: lip seals, V-shaped seals, U-shaped seals, Y-shaped seals, YX-shaped seals and hydraulic cylinders commonly used combination seals are mainly Lei ring, Glace ring and Sterseal. O-ring
3. Select seals
In the purchase of maintenance seals, most users will buy according to the size and color of the sample, which will only increase the difficulty of procurement, and may not be able to select the right product. The following procedures are recommended to improve the accuracy of the procurement of seals:
1. Direction of motion - First determine the direction of motion of the seal location, such as reciprocating, rotating, spiraling or fixing.
2. Sealing focus - for example, determine whether the active point is a tie rod seal in the inner diameter or a piston seal in the outer diameter.
3. Temperature grade - Consult the instructions of the original factory machinery or evaluate the working temperature according to the actual working environment to decide the required materials. Instructions for temperature grades can be found in the Production User Notes below.
4. Size - Most users will use the old sample to buy, but the seal in use for a period of time, will be temperature, pressure and wear and other factors greatly affect its original size, according to the sample selection can only be used as a reference, the better way is to measure the size of the metal slot where the seal is located, the accuracy will be higher.
5. Pressure level - Consult the relevant data from the original factory machinery instructions, or infer the working pressure level by observing the softness and hardness of the original seal and the structure, the description of the pressure level can be referred to the following production user precautions.
